Generali Real Estate recently delivered its first residential building certified by Association BBCA as a Low Carbon Building, Cydonia, located in Clichy, just outside Paris.
The residence is made up of 82 apartments, with balconies, terraces, and gardens.
It is characterized by an innovative structural use of wood, with the supporting structure of the walls and floors mainly made of CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) certified PEFC (forest certification recognition program). The engineered wood ensures durability and stability thanks to its several layers, oriented perpendicularly and glued together.
The project used approximately 1860 m3 of structural wood, representing long-term storage of ca. 1415 tons of CO2.
Thanks to its wood’s natural thermal and acoustic insulation qualities, Cydonia offers excellent comfort level, it complies with the local thermal regulations and, next to the BBCA label (Low Carbon Building) with the Excellent level, also obtained the E+C- label, which indicates the use of best practices established for buildings with high energy and environmental performance levels.
The Cydonia project is a great achievement for Generali Real Estate that keeps on proving to be a forerunner in sustainable construction techniques and in promoting sustainability across the entire real estate value chain.
