Trieste building: a new Generali headquarters in Madrid

TOPICS:Environmental

The 'Trieste' building, hosting the new Generali headquarters in Madrid, is an example of the sustainability commitments that Generali and Generali Real Estate are living by and actively supporting, in every aspect of business - starting from our own offices.

The building has recently been renovated – a more sustainable option compared to reconstruction - by Generali Real Estate in collaboration with Estudio Lamela. The new facilities consume 30% less energy and 40% less water, and have been designed to limit the “heat island” effect, thanks to materials with high solar reflection and insulation capacity, new generation glass façades, LED lighting system with DALI control, and high-performance air treatment plants which operate without fossil fuels.
As a result, the building is aligned with the most advanced EU taxonomy requirements, while anticipating the achievement of net zero targets set for 2050.

Carlos Becerril, Head of Investments & Asset Management Iberia, commented: “At Generali, we continue to advance our sustainability-focused roadmap: we are proud to lead by example and to put sustainability at the center of everything we do. Every aspect of the building has been designed with the goal to reduce our environmental impact, from the use of renewable energy to water management and indoor air quality.”
